Cairo-Mubasher: Egypt’s consumer price index rose by 2.1% in February from a month earlier, the government statistics body, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), said on Tuesday.

The rise in inflation was mainly attributed to an increase in cigarettes, vegetables, butane cylinders, meat and poultry.

Annual inflation rate amounted to 10.7% in February, compared with 9.4% in January, CAPMAS reported.
